Queue : Who likes to stand in a queue?

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'Q' for 'Queue'

Who likes to stand in a queue?

Most of us don’t like….but some enjoy this tremendously.

If its summer time,  get the wacky smell of sweating from the front or back side, or from your own cloths….Get tired standing for long time, if you are taking your kids along, then nothing can beat your situation….

But, if there is a very sweet and approachable beautiful girl or a handsome boy beside you, your time will pass extremely fast.  A talkative and interesting uncle or aunty can also help you pass your time faster.  Some people even make long lasting friendship or sell their products too, standing in a queue. Unlimited scope for friendly and talkative people.

Am I wrong?

One of my uncles, who is extremely talkative, would love if the queue is longer.  He has a never ending friend list. If he knows that there would be a long queue, he would be ready with his packet of paan masala , visiting cards , or the brochures of his consumer products to keep the conversation lively with the queue crowd.

Pain in mind and soul

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'P' for 'Pain'

Sanjay was managing himself somehow with tremendous patience……the ambiance became extremely gloomy…..The shiny sun also was unable to bring some brightness to the surroundings. His son and daughter reached home in the morning…..But still they could not take Pragya to the burial ground…as postmortem was yet to be done.

All of them along with few neighbors were waiting in front of the postmortem centre. From far only, Sanjay could see Rajeev coming fast with an extremely depressed face. He was coming directly from the airport. Sanjay could understand what he might be feeling….Rajeev was always so close to his family, specially him and Pragya. After all, since school, Rajeev and Sanjay were best friends. Both of them could not help crying loud, hugging each other….Others just pitched in and consoled them and managed the situation somehow.

After an hour, the police came and called Sanjay inside a room. Rajeev also accompanied.

“Accident was really terrible. Her face is badly damaged…..Can you please tell us any secret spot from which we can be sure in recognition?” The police asked Sanjay.

Sanjay tried his hard to recall….if he could think of any secret spot in Pragya’s body...

“Yes, yes, there was a small red birth mark in her chest…..just below her right……” …Rajeev paused realizing…what he was saying….

Sanjay looked at Rajeev……a blank look …….Rajeev could not look up, just silently left the place with a never come back manner.

Sanjay could feel some pain in his mind and soul….

Orthodox beliefs can be beneficial sometimes too

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'O' for 'Orthodox'

I am a Non-Veg eater and a ‘I Hate Fasting’ person, basically.

I believe in God by the way….may be as a positive energy….call for help while in trouble or mess with Him while in a loser position.

Anyways,…one of my aunts….who is a special worshiper of God, keeps fasting four days a week.

Monday Fasting is for God Shiva : Because of Him only, aunt got my uncle, according to her.

Tuesday Fasting is for Hanuman : For Him only, she always be able to overcome all trouble, she says.

Thursday Fasting for Guru: God Brihaspati is the symbol of Prosperity, Good Fortune, Knowledge : For God Brihaspati only, she is wealthy.

Saturday Fasting is for Saturn:  If God Saturn is happy, He will save you from all suffering, hardships in work, and education etc. If He is angry, you are a 'gone' case.

Aunt is basically Non-Veg, but she eats only veg dishes on Wednesday. Why? Because, Mercury or God Budh is considered to help new business ventures or in educational activities. She admitted her kids in school and college on Wednesday for which, they always do good results.

I was fine if she kept all these beliefs for herself…but she insisted me to keep fasting for 16 Mondays….when my marriage was delayed. To keep her mind, I kept fasting for the whole day – 12 hours. She allowed me to have Vrat wala khana (all food which you can have during fasting) like fruits, some milk items etc.

I could not continue all 16 Mondays for some reasons, but I still remember , those are the days when I had full healthy food…

Don’t know.....I think being Orthodox can be beneficial sometimes too.

Nothing gonna change my love for you

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'N' for 'Nothing'

Nothing last forever, Nothing remain same
Time make the Change, brings happiness or pain.

Near or far, wherever you are,
Nothing gonna change my love for you,
You are my love forever.

Keep me loving, for me, Nothing else matter
I feel blessed, ‘Mom’ when you utter

One thing you can be sure of that
I'll never ask for more than that

The world may change....
May face ups and down in life,
But I will always be there to keep you away from any strife.

Nothing gonna change my love for you, my son!!!

Maidam: Pyramids of Assam

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'M' for 'Maidam'

Historians say that the Egyptian pyramids are their only competitors. Series of stories from localites about the richness of the place....still finding gold or silver jewels, coins under the ground, inside the ponds, wells...

Yes, I am talking about ‘Maidam’, probably very few of you have heard about it. May be none of you also.

Why it’s in the ‘Don’t Know’ list….though it has incomparable beauty and grandeur of its own?

Till last few years, these sacred burial ground of the kings of Ahom kingdom laid depressing, desolated, and abandoned. But now, with the zeal of some energetic local folks, it has received proper attention and developed to be an extremely stunning place and got a World Heritage Site tag from UNESCO too.

Externally Maidam appears like a hemispherical mound. But, architecturally, this is a two or three bed rooms set. It comprises of a huge underground burial chamber with one or more compartments having domical superstructure and covered by a heap of earthen mound. At the top of the mound there is a small open pavilion called 'chow-chali'. An octagonal dwarf wall encloses whole maidam. The historical chronicles say that wives, attendants, the dancers, cook, pet animals and huge quantity of valuables like jewels, gold and silver coins were buried with the departed kings.

The structural construction and the process of royal burials are explained in historical documents called Chang-Rung Phukanor Buranjiwith the details, even with the mention of the articles that were buried. Later excavations under the Archeological Survey of India found some of the maidams previously defiled, with the articles mentioned in the Buranji missing.

Many of the maidams were excavated and looted, mostly under the Mughal general Mir Jumla who had occupied Garhgaon briefly in the 17th century; and under the British after 1826. Fragmentary remains of ivory and wooden objects have been recovered from the inner chamber of the maidam too.

Situated 28 km east of Sivasagar district of Assam, situated in the northeast of India, Charaideo was the first capital of the Ahoms founded by Sukapha who migrated from Mong-Mao or Mong Mao Ling, a south-west province of China. The king Sukapha was first laid to rest at Charaideo, after his death. Since then, it became the sacred burial ground of the kings and queens of the Ahom kingdom.

Enormously beautiful green landscape, park in front of all the major maidams, Ahom kings' Palace, royal architectures are the special attraction of this place. Go to the top of the maidams, have an eye-soothing sight of the green surroundings.

Lantern : Necessity became Luxury

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'L' for Lantern'

In our village, when we were kids….there was no electricity.  Glowworm used to amplify the beauty of dark ambiance of our countryside nights, lantern used to help us in study, assist my mom and aunts in cooking, arranging the beds to sleep.

During the day, my mom, aunt, all ladies at home would keep all the lanterns ready to be used at night by cleaning the lanterns’ smokestack, putting kerosene in its tank. Once the dusk approached, they would light them up, distribute in all the rooms. We would study in its light, mom and aunts would cook food…..we would have our dinner…….mom and aunt would take it to outside to clean the utensils. Dad, grandpa or uncle would use it if they need to close the boundary gate or go out for any reason.

Gradually, the lives got changing……..

Electricity came in, though accompanied by frequent power cuts. So, lantern still could manage its importance till 90’s. Now, there are solar powered lights to replace the lanterns, bring down its usage. I would not say that it got vanished at all in the extremely unreachable villages; it is still carrying its value.

But, lanterns have made their way to décor up the restaurants, bars, hotels, and  to add grandeur in the living rooms of  higher ups in society.

Kaziranga : A place which can incite your senses, arrest your mind and soul

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'K' for Kaziranga'

Awestruck beauty of the dark forest…ride on the elephants, listen to the growling of the tigers….the exciting sights of one-horned Rhinos….feel the touch of the melodious breeze sitting on the bank of the beautiful lakes….engrave your own footprints on the bank of mighty Brahmaputra river…enjoy the songs of the curvy streams…run through the tea maze with utmost pleasure and freshness……

Does it sound very tempting?.....You can catch them all at Kaziranga.

Kaziranga is a beautiful world heritage site, a national park situated in the northeastern region of India, within the state of Assam, hosting two-thirds of the world's great one-horned rhinoceroses. Celebrating its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905, Kaziranga boasts the highest density of tigers among protected in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. It is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, swamp deer and birds.

You can imagine the picturesque of Kaziranga, as it is a vast area of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, criss-crossed by four major rivers, and has numerous small bodies of water. It is engulfed by the Brahmaputra River, which forms the northern and eastern boundaries, and another river Mora Diphlu forms the southern boundary. Other notable river within the park is Mora Dhansiri.

Take an elephant or open Jeep Safari in the fresh morning….ride through rugged reeds, not only you can enjoy the scenic beauty…but be thrilled with the awesome sights of the animals. If you feel, cruise in a boat in the lakes....catch the fish…or climb the small and high hills, explore the beautiful wild flowers in the forest…visit the Aadhivashi’s village…. stroll through the lush tea, coffee and rubber plantations…

The best time to visit Kaziranga is from mid-November to early April month. It is well connected by road, one can take the bus or hired cars. The nearest airport is situated at Jorhat, 97-km from the park. The other airport is located at Guwahati, which is 217-km from Kaziranga. The Tezpur airport is also quite close to the park.

Many resorts offer you to golf on the exciting fairways surrounded by tea gardens and admirable greens...Get surprise by awesome Assamese traditional food and hospitality. If it’s a rainy day, just take a cottage, feel the sound of the rain on hay-roof, sit in the verandah, sip a cup of fresh green or orthodox tea.

A marvelous experience is guaranteed.

Awaken the wanderlust in you to visit this national park, when there are few Rhinos and Tigers are still alive…..the energetic Poachers are at work….no fullstop for them….

Jack of all trades

The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'J' for 'Jack of all trades'

I said let’s modify the religion, he said, "Don't try to go to the prison."
I said move faster, he said, "Tortoise are the winner."
I asked him to enjoy the day, he said, "I am learning to enjoy how to pay."
When I talked about a night, he said, "Why can't you enjoy the bright."
I was talking about a fable, he just gave me an example
I talked about food, he said, "Do yoga, be slim, get into the mood."
When I wanted to take rest, he said, "Go to doc to do the test."
When I  wanted to listen to my soul, he said, "Be practical, look at the goal”

When I said that its all about my fate, he suggested me to be the Jack of all trades…..
