Beauty, not blessed with physical beauty

Today as the second day of blogging for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'B' for Beauty

“What a beauty!” “What a personality!” “Look at her elegance!” “She deserves to be the winner!” Rita could hear these comments popping up from the audience.

Akansha’s presentation, answers to the juries’ questions, not only impressed the jury members, but also the whole audience, in the country’s one of the high-status auditoriums.

In few minutes, the judges announced the result…. “The Entrepreneur of the Year goes to …..Akansha Chaoudhary!!!”

Rita could not stop her eye-drops when her daughter kissed her forehead and took her along to the stage for receiving the prestigious award.

The whole scene came to her mind once again when Akansha was born.

Thirty years back.....Rita and her hubby used to get frequent comments from their friends, relatives, known and unknown people that both of them look stunning together. Dazzled individual beauty when combines, should come out something unparalleled splendor. That’s everyone was expecting while Rita was pregnant.

Some said, “If the baby is a girl, she shall be the most beautiful woman in the world.”

Some other said, “If the baby is a girl, will surely look like an angel with fair skin, beautiful eyes….”

Yes, Rita gave birth to a baby girl. But, just opposite to the people’s expectations. A baby girl with tanned skin, light hair, a bit bulging eyes and flat nose…

People started different rumors in the society. Some literally started digging up if she had an extra marital affair with somebody. In fact, Rita had to face the doubtful eyes of her husband many times.

However, time flied……may be Akansha was not blessed with excellent physical beauty…but her deeds, smartness, her smile, her loving attitude, all gradually helped her winning the hearts of the people, and in climbing the ladder of her personal and professional life faster.

Today, Rita could hear people praising Akansha’s beauty, charm, elegance….She thought that Audrey Hepburn rightly said,
The beauty of a woman Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries, Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman Is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years only grows.
