Ice Cream

                 The Post is for A to Z April 2015 Challenge, I took up a topic : 'I' for ICE CREAM'




Summer noons,  80’s in India!!!

We eagerly used to wait for a person with a white box hanging in his neck, alerting his arrival with a bell……calling all kids with one word… “Ice cream walaaa…..!!!!”  

50 paisa for one orange stick Ice Cream.  Rs. 1 for one milk stick ice cream and Rs. 2 for one milk cup icecream.  Blackmailing our Moms that we would do our homework, study properly  in the evening, we would run fast with the coins and gather around the icecreamwala…….lick the stick with utmost bliss and satisfaction….





Or..mix sugar with milk, pour in the ice cube case, put match sticks in each piece,  keep in the freezer to chill,  open the freezer door frequently to check whether they were ready….and savour  them with extreme pleasure…





Gone are those days….

Now a plethora of different flavours of ice cream in cups, cone, stick, sundae is available in the Indian markets, infact you can savour the taste of the many foreign brands of ice cream in most of the shops.

Vanilla,  Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, Coffee, Maple Walnut, Pistachio, Butterscotch, Banana, Peach, Peppermint, Burgundy Cherry, Butter Pecan, Caramel, Orange Pineapple, Pecan Brittle, Butterscotch, Black Raspberry, Apple etc., what not!!!! Soo many flavours, so many varieties…..
       
                  
While we may still be far away from the world's most outrageously expensive icecream - a $ 1,000 ice-cream sundae at New York's Serendipity - sundry beginnings seem to have been made with the pupularity of the icecream brands like Häagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry's, Baskin-Robbins, Blue Bell, Breyers, Kwality Wall's, Hershey's, Cream Bell, Vadilal, Amul, Cold Stone Creamery, Natural Ice Cream, be in extreme winter days…or scorching summer times.


World's most expensive ice cream :





At a price of US$1,000, the most expensive ice cream sundae is the Serendipity Golden Opulence Sundae, sold by Serendipity 3 restaurant in New York City. The dessert consists of five scoops of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla, covered in 23-carat edible gold leaf, rare Amedei Porcelana and Chuao chocolate, American Golden caviarpassion fruitorangeArmagnac, candied fruits from Paris, and marzipan cherries, and decorated with real gold dragées.
